Overview
Chongyun's skill creates a Frost Field that infuses claymore, sword, and polearm users with Cryo. His burst summons spirit blades for AoE Cryo damage. The infusion enables Melt reactions when paired with Pyro (Bennett/Diluc). His skill CD is short, great for particle generation.
How to Play
Cast skill to place Frost Field, then swap to your melee DPS (Diluc, Kaeya) for Cryo-infused attacks. Use burst for AoE Cryo damage and Noblesse buff. Position the field so your DPS stays inside during their on-field window. Chongyun stays off-field.
Optimal Rotation
Bennett Burst, Chongyun Skill, Diluc Burst, Diluc E/N1 combos inside field, Chongyun Burst, repeat. In Melt: apply Bennett Pyro aura, Chongyun field, Diluc attacks trigger Melt. Refresh field before infusion expires.
F2P Options
Sacrificial Greatsword or Favonius Greatsword are excellent F2P options. Chongyun is a banner 4★. Noblesse is farmable. He's the best Melt enabler for Diluc, free Kaeya alternative doesn't provide Cryo infusion.
Common Mistakes
Placing Frost Field off-center so DPS misses infusion. Using Chongyun with bow/catalyst DPS, infusion only affects melee. Bursting before skill wastes the infusion setup. Running Chongyun in Vape teams, Cryo infusion overrides Pyro on Diluc.
